The South Side of Chicago - Tips for photo mapping research journey

Album Description

An album is a great place to combine screen shots from 3D maps, photo research, media creations and primary sources to uncover the history of a community.  This album is based on a blog post in Picture This Double Take: A Research Journey to 1941 Chicago (thanks to   Kristi Finefield).  It is a follow up on a TPS discussion post: https://tpsteachersnetwork.org/tps-commons/primary-source-connections-a-librarians-help?cid=60579

'Celebrating the Black History of Jackson Park'

Reference note

'In honor of Black History Month, we're reflecting on Frederick Douglass' visit to Jackson Park during the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. Jackson Park is preparing to repeat its historical role as a place of honor for America’s black icons as the site of the future Obama Presidential Center. During Black History Month and every month, we are constantly reminded that we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us.

You can learn more about the future Obama Presidential Center by visiting obama.org/the-center'
