Injustice, Rage and Despair

Album Description

The Library of Congress houses digital access to many resources that chronicle race related injustice and unrest.  Images from Washington DC, 1968 and Tulsa Oklahoma 1921, both are part of that photographic record.

A study of the images in this album should garner many student questions and impact current understanding of ongoing tragic events. Further research by students can outline underlying causes that are contributors to injustice. And as educators it is our hope that they’ll be civic contributors to a better future.

Technical Teaching Notes - Students learning online often use their phones.  Research via the LOC Collections app allows for mobile research and identification of resources that they can carry in their pocket.
