What’s that sound? - Collecting images for thinking about sound.

Album Description

When students analyze images can they also explore what they might hear if they were transported into that place in time?

I would appreciate your help in collecting images that might spark questions and research for a multimedia project/lesson where student would think about and describe, via audio, what sounds they would hear if they were “in” that image. Students then would replicate those sounds.  They would also investigate how the sounds would be different in that same place today.

Much has reported about how different cities sounded during the stay-at-home orders with Covid-19 which got me thinking about this lesson.  The photos don’t have to relate to city sound - any place will do.  The images I’ve added already are collected from various albums in our TPS Teacher Network.

Have you seen other images from the Library of Congress that you think might work for this lesson idea? If so, please add them to the album.  When I build out this idea I’ll share it here.
