Linked here is a wonderful post from Jen Reidel , our Library of Congress 2019-2020 Teacher in Residence! She's an expert in teaching civics, and I know she'd be happy to help anyone in need of specific primary sources or teaching ideas in that content area and more. This blog post is just the beginning!

Loved this blog post! Full of wonderful primary source media on the integration of Little Rock High School. It includes some of my favorite powerful civil rights images as well as ones I had not seen before.
This topic always draws a lot of interest among high school students. After introducing the topic, I would have students explore the media and then brainstorm questions they had. Their questions would drive the research on the topic and their challenge would be to try to step into the shoes of the Central High students during this crisis and create media that told the story of that experience.
