To be or not to be...
Every day, every night, every weekend, all year long, a small but dedicated team watches over and nurtures the TPS Teachers Network. Our work is all about making this social media environment useful, practical, and functional for our educator members. Along the way, we are also accumulating tales of our own - tales that we believe may ultimately enrich the TPS Teachers Network experience for everyone. But how do we tell our Network story?
“Hmm,” we pondered. “What about a Network Insider?”
To be!
First, we considered our audience:
- Users inside the TPS Teachers Network. Our insiders have told us they like learning the details of our behind-the-scenes work on behalf of the Network. We’d like to take you backstage with us to learn about content strategy, analytics, development decisions, new features, quick tips, featured users, great groups, and more.
- Prospective users outside the TPS Teachers Network. We also want you to let prospective users know why they should be pounding at our Network doors! That’s why we’re encouraging users to share the Insider stories with others. Login and and share these unique stories with others, so that they see the value in becoming a member.
- Not-for-profit education entities without a social media network. Ours is a unique network in that it has such a distinct, non-commercial focus. Big bucks, huge development teams, advertising, and ROI do not apply! In fact, almost nothing has been written about profiles such as ours, and we think we have something to teach others like us.
Next, we picked some categories:
- Network News
- Getting Started
- Featured Users
- Great Groups and Content
- Tips & Tricks
- Behind the Scenes
Finally, we wrote a sample post for nearly every category. We are now ready to raise the opening curtain to Network users!
We look forward to your feedback in comments both here and in the TPS Teachers Network. You can even give us stars for our first performances (look just below the title above). Like experiences inside the TPS Teachers Network, we’ll all be learning together.
