If you are reading this, there’s a high probability you joined the TPS Teachers Network after experiencing some type of TPS professional development. When educators first begin to explore the Library of Congress website and learn a little about primary source inquiry and teaching strategies, they often leave TPS events with one wish - “We want more!”
The Library of Congress TPS program offers professional development and materials created to help K-12 teachers use primary sources to engage students and build their content knowledge, while developing their critical thinking and analysis skills. Throughout each year, the Library’s Educational Outreach Office, along with its institutional partners and grantees, conducts TPS presentations, workshops, and institutes, as well as face-to-face and online courses for teachers from across the country.

Please join your colleagues in welcoming our first ever TPS Teachers Network Mentors!
The TPS Teachers Network is growing. We now have over 3,000 members from across the country contributing primary sources and teaching ideas in more than 25 public groups and dozens of private groups. Twenty months after the official launch of the Network, we feel confident about reaching out to an even wider population of educators across the country.
As our membership expands, we want to ensure that all users have a meaningful experience each time they log in to the Network - an experience consistently enhanced by additional experts and dedicated colleagues.

Within minutes of the debut of our new TPS Teachers Network blog last week, we realized that it could potentially cause some confusion with the Teaching with the Library of Congress blog. As a result, we quickly moved the new publication inside the password protected TPS Teachers Network.
Today we are announcing a new name and a new URL:
- Name – TPS Teachers Network Insider
- URL – http://tpsteachersnetwork.org/insider
Confusion averted!

To be or not to be...
Every day, every night, every weekend, all year long, a small but dedicated team watches over and nurtures the TPS Teachers Network. Our work is all about making this social media environment useful, practical, and functional for our educator members. Along the way, we are also accumulating tales of our own - tales that we believe may ultimately enrich the TPS Teachers Network experience for everyone. But how do we tell our Network story?
“Hmm,” we pondered. “What about a Network Insider?”
