    Inquiry Starter Set - Would you rather? American National Parks

    Album Description

    This set of images comes from Free to Use and Reuse: Travel Posters Collection. For more about the collection - LINK.

    For each of the posters:

    • Identify in which state the park can be found
    • Identify the features in each poster - land formation, water features, landscape
    • What activities are offered?

    Then:

    • Based on the posters, which place would you rather visit and why?
    • Go to each of the park home pages and look at the modern information for activities. Which place would you rather visit and why?
    • Did your answer change? Why or why not?
    • How might a more modern poster differ from these historic posters?

    Extension:

    Identify a National Park close to your school. Design a poster in this same style to encourage folks to visit the park. What colors would you use? What activities would you highlight?
