Battle Creek, Michigan was privileged to welcome Gerda Weissmann Klein to our community in April 2007 when she spoke to 1900 students from all over the state in the W.K. Kellogg Auditorium, as recounted in the Battle Creek Enquirer

We could not have been more grateful to this remarkable woman (recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor) for educating and empowering us to make a difference.

As we mourn and pay tribute to Gerda Weissmann Klein, please find in this Album resources which attest to the legacy of a courageous individual, writer and human rights activist who imparted a message of hope, love and humanity.

May Gerda’s story inspire us as we observe Holocaust Days of Remembrance 2022 and may her memory be for a blessing.
