The quest continues for the return of art looted by the Nazis during WWII. Families whose art was taken during the war have been pursuing the return of art through legal channels.
Most recently an Associated Press report published in The New York Times, November 28, 2016, demonstrated that success.
"Healing Wounds, Looted Art Reunited With Nazi Victims' Heirs"
Thank you for pointing out this timely article, Neme Alperstein ! Coincidentally, I am reminded of a wonderful, age-appropriate (middle school & high school) Holocaust fiction work Cezanne is Missing that deals with looted art from the Nazi era and that takes place in New York City. I was fortunate to get to know the author Frank McMillan (an educator like us) when we both participated in the Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Teachers' Program in 2007. The world gets smaller and more interconnected!
