The Why We Love Pirates book, although a serious historical study of the age of pirates, regularly refers to the myths and images of pirates that have remained a part of our culture to this day. If you wish to take a little side journey into the Library of Congress collections, I invite you to add your discoveries to this album, Pirates in Popular Culture

This reminds me of the British Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, The Pirates of Penzance, and the Works Progress Administration posters that were printed at the time it was performed in the United States.  Pirates remain a favorite along with super heroes.  A search using "Pirates of Penzance" will produce many poster links, one more fun than the next.

Feel free to add one of The Pirates of Penzance posters to the album,   Neme Alperstein !
