'Julien Palafax is a 19-year-old student in San Francisco Unified School District’s program for students 18-22 with moderate to severe disabilities. In pre-pandemic times, Julien had anxiety about riding the school bus and had difficulty participating in classroom activities. In this interview, he and his teacher, Heidi Seretan, talk about how things are different now, and how, in some ways, Julien is thriving. Since this interview was done, the program has returned to in-person, but Julien and all his classmates have elected to remain remote.'

This video came in an email from the Pulitzer Center. It serves as a bit of a counterpoint to all the stories we are reading about learning loss and other losses during the Covid 19 pandemic shift to online learning.
My takeaway is that the best way to teach every child is to teach each child in the ways that work best for them. Students who found out that they learn best online need to be able to continue to learn online.

The TPS Teachers Network has an equal exchange of ideas. You know it's not a place where you're being judged.

My colleagues post incredibly fine resources and ideas....the caliber of the suggestions and resources make me feel that I take a lot from it. It's a takeaway. And I hope that I can give back as much as I get.
