Students create a graphic populated with Library of Congress images from past Election Days.  They research and create a scenario on why that image is a primary source for its time.  Then using their digital cameras or phones, they take an image of Election Day 2020 (making a primary source) and add it to their graphic. They discuss the similarities or differences of past elections and the election of 2020 including the primary source image they have just created.

Connecting student experiences with participatory activities is an engaging way for them to analyze past primary sources.

Here are a few selected images as examples and a simple resulting graphic.  Add your own election 2020 snapshot to this album!
