Back to school elementary warm-up activity
Album collection of photographs of one-room school houses. This could be used as a back-to-school activity as a gallery walk, a digital image share, or small group discussions. After analysis of the photos, broader inquiry might include:
- how has school changed over time?
- how is this similar different to your school today?
- how would this be more difficult?
- how would this be easier?
- what would it be like to have under 20 kids in the school? all of different ages? (encourage them to think of both advantages and disadvantages)
- do you think schools like this exist anywhere today? where?
