For all you geography geeks out there, I would love to see anyone add to this album about geographical terms that show historical significance. Let’s see how many terms we can come up with using primary sources! Make sure you not only provide a primary source but also a brief explanation or links that explain the significance of the term presented. Let’s get geographical!

Having students to find a geographical term with historical significance and research the event. A quick and fun lesson in which students can then think about the history of their geographical location. GLOSSARY OF TERMS (physicalgeography.net)

I think it is equally important for students to know toponyms and the recent effort by our Sec. of the Interior to remove offensive place names as they reflect inaccurate and unjust histories and restore the historic names of many places in our nation.

A good mix with science, too   There is also the possibility of regional variances of geographic terms.  Bluff/Hills. Valley/Coulee/Hollar for example.

    Thank you!
