Thanks for sharing this great piece, rich with photos and descriptions of the clay work, furniture-making, instrument and music-making, and dance, and the challenges of preserving traditions in the face of substantial population loss. I was struck by the photo of a Massachusetts family who traveled to Puerto Rico to learn Taino arts -- my city of Holyoke, MA is home to a large Puerto Rican diaspora community, and I wonder if this article will be featured and shared locally.
