In this activity, students use critical thinking strategies to develop a timeline of events leading to the Seminole Wars and through the wars.

Students will examine a challenging environment- The Florida Everglades_ and how people are able to meet their needs for survival in that place. They will use resources from the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum to sort how the Seminole Tribe of Florida used plants and animals to meet their needs for survival.

The teacher companion provides everything you need to be ready to use the Dade Battlefield booklet today. With activities, teacher script, additional information, and step by step directions, the teacher's companion is ready for you.

The Dade Battlefield Student Booklet is available as a separate file.

Through images and first person narrative, students explore different sides of the Seminole Wars conflict. With critical thinking strategies, they will be able to analyze and draw conclusions.

There is a teacher guide that is also available which includes teacher script, additional information, and directions for student use.
