This video shows the results of a ten-year conservation project at the tomb of King Tutankhamen (King Tut) in Egypt. The conservation angle seems especially relevant to science classes.

To help students understand the intense fascination of the general public following the 1922 discovery of the tomb, a teacher could show examples from this LINK to nearly 1500 pages of Chronicling America newspaper articles from 1922 onward.

Thank you for sharing this fascinating Getty Conservation Institution video and pointing out the connection to Chronicling America coverage of the King Tut discovery.

For some additional supporting primary source material, see the New York Times Learning Network and National Geographic Education Blog.

Thank you for this.  It is great for my Global Studies Geography class, which is part of an Environmental Studies Academy.  I am going to work it in with the building of the Aswan High Dam and preservation attempts (or the lack there of).
