Letters from an American farmer St. John de Crèvecoeur, J. Hector, 1735-1813

An English settler in pioneer Wisconsin; the letters of Edwin Bottomley, 1842-1850

America of the fifties: letters of Fredrika Bremer Bremer, Fredrika, 1801-1865

As a Chinaman saw us; passages from his letters to a friend at home 1892-1902

Not letters but these selections from the American Memory Timeline have links to some great oral histories excerpts with guided analysis questions
