I would like to explore music samples as a way to learn more about cultures. I believe I'll focus on Spanish music / Mexican music as a starting point to see what I can find. Some subject areas that could be explored further through the music would be types of instruments used, topics of the songs/lyrics, overall style of music (use of tempo/dynamics in relation to human response). Depending on how what primary sources I am able to find, I believe this could be an activity applicable to all learning levels but for this purpose I am going to focus mostly on secondary education/high school.
