Last summer, I had the opportunity to meet Andrea Davis Pinkney & Brian Pinkney. Also, I'm familiar with the book. The Four Friends who Stood Up reminds me of Rosa Parks' bus boycott. Frederick Douglass said “If there is no struggle, there is no progress."
It was a powerful moment in history and the picture book is powerful as well.
