NCSS is offering a limited number of registration scholarships to enable early and mid-career social studies educators from diverse ethnic groups, especially historically marginalized communities and/or economically disadvantaged school districts, to attend its 104th Annual Conference taking place November 22-24 in Boston, MA. The scholarship also includes a one-year NCSS membership. | NCSS scholarship information & application deadline: August 30

Susan Allen! So many fun and impactful ideas to teach inquiry with primary sources. Teachers are frequently looking for K-2 ideas.
This title caught my eye: Guided Primary Source Analysis: Grandma’s Toilet

Part of the activity is…
”…create a similar modern-day image with an accompanying title.”
This reminded me of an activity 
Peggy O'Neill-Jones explained in an Insider Post this month: Re-photography and Primary Sources. Even k-2 learners can pick up a device and photograph an emulation of Grandma’s Toilet. And that will be a primary source and literacy lesson that certainly will be remembered by those littles.
