Benjamin Franklin (writer, publisher, Ambassador to France, worked to secure an alliance with France to help fight against the British)
Alexander Hamilton (lead a charge against the British during the Battle of Yorktown which helped America win the war; helped establish the US Treasury and became the first Treasurer of the US)
Patrick Henry (first VA governor; "Liberty or Death" speech helped persuade many to fight against the British)
Thomas Jefferson (author of Declaration of Independence, second VP, third US President)
George Washington (commander of Continental Army, first US President, "Father of Our Country")
